Membership & Donations
Make a direct impact on wildlife in the community; adopt a resident for a business, corporation, or classroom project!
Membership
Become a member and make a difference concerning the preservation of our local wildlife! Receive "Peace River Tracks " and attend and vote at our annual PRWC membership meeting. We welcome your support, input and participation.
Volunteer Services
Get involved -- give us some of your time and talent! If you enjoy working with animals and people who share a similar passion, a wide variety of opportunities are available.
You can guide tours, feed the animals and clean their cages, clerk in the gift shop, assist in a fund-raising campaign, become a home-care volunteer, write for the newsletter or participate in whatever else is needed to keep the center operating.
Contributions
There is no charge for the services we provide. Patients are accepted gratis; there is no cost to visit and tour the center. We provide the educational programs as part of community service. However, we do have a bottom line and heartily depend upon private donations for our existence. The generosity of these donations extends to memorials, bequests and legacies.
In addition to cash contributions, we greatly appreciate supplies such as food for the animals and cleaning products. Our Wish List is posted for everyone to see. To view it, click on the "Wish List" to check out what is needed at present.
Recycling
A substantial part of our ongoing fund-raising is derived from our "aluminum cans" recycling program. Drop-offs are accepted seven days a week; there are four large containers located by the back gate. We're continually crushing and hauling.
Additionally, you can take your recyclables to Allied Recycling and let them know you would like the proceeds of your donation to be given to the Peace River Wildlife Center.

Adopt a Resident of PRWC
How would you like to help a friend? Many of you reading this article have been to the Peace River Wildlife Center over the years, and had a chance to meet some of our permanent residents. Some of you only know us via the newspaper. Lots of you have had the occasion to bring wildlife to us that were in dire need of care.
Well, to all our friends, both old and new, in person or via the "inky trail", we have a program at Peace River Wildlife Center. People can directly help on a one to one basis. Our wildlife residents are up for financial support by "adoption". You may adopt one of our residents by the month, by the year, a gift for Aunt Betty who has everything, or as a classroom project to involve the younger generations. The fees range from $25.00 to $100.00 for feeding a resident, per month. For example, a Pelican adoption would cost $25.00 per month; a Red Tail Hawk would cost $35.00 for a month.
Anyone who adopts a resident receives a certificate with an actual picture of your "personal friend". We have been able to get the birds to stand still for pictures to put on the certificates, however, we have not been able to convince them that they should write a personal note to their sponsors!
We are also going to sell cards for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Mother's Day, etc. in our gift shop that can be used as a gift for your adoptee. Remember "Aunt Betty" who has everything?? I am sure she would love a nice Birthday or Christmas card showing one of our residents that has been "adopted" for a month as a gift to her. And, she doesn't even have to clean up after it! You really need to come and visit our beautiful gift shop.
You also receive a certificate with a picture of your "friend", and teachers who bring their class to the wildlife center (after booking a date) can see in person the bird they helped.
